amazing online shoppers
i have concluded (you may of course disagree with my conclusion) that many locals are still not as net-shopping savvy as our western counterparts... and many lack the very basic etiquette / manners and are not as refined when dealing with interpersonal relationships... or maybe they just don't get what online shopping means...
so i've been talking with friends about why singaporeans don't seem to be catching on to the use of paypal... it kinda restricts everything to the local context of having to make local bank transfers... which is cool for me, but not for for my friends abroad when they purchase something from singapore and don't own a posb account, which kinda sucks for them, and i've had to listen to quite a few complaints about it from my overseas friends.
and then the people here don't seem to get that shopping online involves a certain element of surprise, whereby you don't get to touch and feel the product, but depend very much on the photos and descriptions provided, and abit of common sense... which some people don't seem to have... you'll be surprised if you read some of the very draggy emails to-and-fro i've been dealing with in addition to my 18 hour days... yeah.. i feel like i'm working in a local graphic design firm dealing with anal clients all over again... my b has advised me to lag email replies at least 36 hours... haha i'll think about it b
i had hoped that putting my items physically at inqbox would have solved most of such problems locally, but i guess there are always exceptional cases... it's alittle daunting.. but as i've mentioned in my previous post, i strive to provide great customer service, always, so good luck to me and my blood pressure... 0( - . - )0
