Tis a nice glass-walled room, there'll be over 30 vendors selling all manner of local designer fashionwear and shoes and accessories and bags and... *we run out of breath* And samples, and current trends, and pre-loved luxury labels, and loads of fabulous quirky stuff!

Plus, in conjunction, a fashion workshop on making this season's trends work for you, organised by official magazine Seventeen! That's at 1pm, at The Cube in Singapore Art Museum.

i just received the most wonderful heartfelt gift from a long-time friend who decided to fly 30 hours to have a rendezvous with me. well, ok fine. he was on his way to his overseas job posting, but still..... :p
remember how we used to give each other mixed tapes? well, i got a set of mixed dvds.. of all my favorite childhood/teen years cartoons, sitcoms and movies, and my favorite openings... this has to be one of the bestest gifts i've received this year!? yeah!... all the time and effort that went into making them! i was so touched that i almost teared up, and i rarely/almost never do.. i think i must have missed him a lot. still do! we hung out only for 1 whole day before i had to leave... :( i really really miss being around good ol' friends who know my life stories and the real me, and vice versa... not acquaintances.. not "fake" friends... not "go out and have fun" friends.. not "let's meet for dinner and talk crap, but really, i hardly know you" friends, but real real normal and special friends who really care and share...

this is one of my favorite songs, i used to love banging out this tune (my mum calls it banging, because she says i put in too much passion/strength/agility, but i think this songs requires that..) on the piano whenever i felt melancholic


and to end off on a chirpier note...

i went to dance class as a kid, and we pranced around to this fab tune all the time! :D love it love it miss it... you must play this song out loud and do the booty dance!!!

and i can't wait for my belated 6 years anniversary gift from b.. :DD time flies by just like that..

i absolutely LOVE working with customers who think that things are very easily sewn.
like how, i can alter a small purse into a big one.
or magically turn a big purse into a small bag. with an extra this. and an extra that.
all done without destroying any pieces of fabric, without any sweat, within a blink of an eye.
such flattery of my skills and talent.
or how they think that they are the only customers i have, that i have no other work to do, other than abiding by their whims to alter an item that they had bought, that had clear photographs and dimensions stated.
puts me right back down to earth.
and the best part.
that labor is free. fucking free of charge.
ahhh, my generosity and charitable personality is being recognized by strangers...
the bestest part?
they didn't even pay anywhere close to $500 for that purse in the very first place.
damn. do i help people to save money or what. didn't cross that big head of mine to charge them like $1000 or whatever, so that i can include laborious alterations.
my un-calculativeness. such a virtue.

i'm sooo into doing cheap, one-of-a-kind stuff. not just affordable, no, but cheap.
i guess it's written on my face that i am such a sell-out craft whore.
wow. please pat me on my back for such a great life achievement.

and and, a huge thank you to all who have shown us such love and support the past 2 weeks during our little celebration counter over at isetan! the delightful response was a pleasant surprise that went above our humble expectations, so yes, a very big grateful and appreciative thank you!! i hope to get the "pay-cheque" from isetan soon! heeee :D and to wendy and maya, thank you gals for being super awesome. you were precious gifts to me, really! i will see you both again soon yah! ;)

too many events the past few months, too many within the past 2 weeks, and too too many the past few days! right up till yesterday, and including today!!! boo. last minute customer viewing sessions, family dinners, funerals, weddings, birthday parties, meetings, conferences and what have yous... the sleep i had envisioned after thursday did not materialise at all. i scored an average of 4 hours sleep for the past few nights since thursday (the last day of our isetan promotion), because of the number of personal matters we had to attend to. right now, i have already been awake for the past 3 hours plus, after only 3.5 hours of sleep *yawns*.... our packing was delayed and took longer than anticipated, again.... so i had to wake up extra early and finish it up by myself... double boooo... :( nasty paper-cuts galore.... the corrugated boxes are wicked!!! so good-bye to the pretty manicure we all did for eve and fai's wedding on saturday, speaking of which, was pretty fun! albeit the 4 hours of sleep prior since the "sisters" had to be at the hotel by 6am... sorry for side-tracking.. anyhoo... i have to clean up the packing mess before a customer comes in later...

moving on! new things galore, making their way slowly but surely to the shoppe!!! sneak previews will always be available via our facebook group/ fan and flickr pages!

and you know how i always lug my camera around, but almost always never remember/ be bothered enough to whip it out to use it? :p well, i did remember to this time, all by myself! no "ahems", "pokings" and "friendly reminders" by camera whores...lol!

i love the snorks!! b and i stumbled onto a row of snorks figures after our lunch at china square central yesterday and it was an awesome trip down memory lane. my cousins and i could sing the opening song too.... haha! and we had the snorks figures.. which were donated to the orphanages by my mum, who had decided i had too much toys and junk. if only she knew how much i could get now, off-loading all those toys she threw out before. ha! i guess at least they were donated and not thrown away.... ok, bye now for reals~ xoxo

one of our best sellers at our little lof space over at isetan scotts so far has been our foille shoulder bags and not a surprise, considering it is one of our current bestsellers over at our shoppe as well!

so yes, it was the first design to be almost completely sold out { coming in a super close second are our 2 brand new designs from our new collection which i have yet to be able to list online or show you any photos, and they are all sold out already! :(( so sorry, online folks!!! i promise to have more ready for the shoppe in the next week or so! coming in third is our i carry your heart with me bags, which are also all sold out already, only 1 piece left! so hurry if you can swing by, by this thursday! }, and i went on a frantic rush in getting ready more restocks.... we were totally caught unprepared, you know, that being a commercial luxury leather bags space (even the isetan buyer who invited us there couldn't really advise on what will sell and what will not, and we went in there with a "let's just try and find out!" positive attitude).. so, yeah, finally!! brand new restocks of our foille shoulder bags will be making their way down later this afternoon!!! and all the pieces there will be OOAK (one of a kind), with the round wooden rings (instead of the rectangular metal ones) our regulars have been totally harassing us for.. hahah! other designs will also be restocked, but too many to mention (i'm rushing through this post!), so you'll see if you go!

thank you all so much for all the really really awesome support you have shown us so far, not just making your way there, but also to buy some littleoddforest goodies!! i don't think anyone who went there just to say hi left without buying anything, gosh, really really big thanks. i didn't and couldn't show it on my face (because i'm a tough nut like that... ha!!), but i was really really touched and super happy! and you were all so awesome that even wendy and maya knows some of your names now! :D

i need sleep. to say august (and september too i'm sure) has been crazy is such an understatement. all that you all knew of or saw was just a fraction of the crazy busy-ness.. i can't imagine what would have happened if i hadn't hire help in time. ok, granted, i'd just have no life at all and be working round the clock, and be very sad. so, thank you all, my new littleoddforest assistants!! thank you helping me have a life!! ha!

i have been busy restocking there almost every day, and the OOAKs specially made for this event are almost all sold out. some of you sweet lof customers have been super cute! going up to my lof sales gals saying, "hi! where are all the OOAK bags?" hahaha!!! i love it!!

please be sure to not be shy and ask our friendly helpful lof sales gals, wendy and maya, any questions you may have about the bags - due to space limitations, there are some kept in the storeroom, so feel free to ask them to show you if you couldn't what you wanted. i will most likely be hanging around there more this weekend.

and our dearest international shoppers! many items in the shoppe are sold out now, but fret not! i'm busy taking photographs of new items and will try to list them before the special once-in-a-blue-moon free shipping thingie ends this sunday!

(meaning scared to lose out, in a chinese dialect) hahahah!!! omg. you all totally shouldn't have, but i'm gracious enough to accept your awesome generosity of course :) i think i should have a customer-of-the-year award next yr.. you think? lol
and it's a strange year also because i haven't received flowers at all for the past couple of years, and then suddenly, in 2008, it's a flowers-giving year? since the beginning of this year until now, i've received like 9 bouquets! (and only 2 are from b!) lol. i don't know about you, but 9 is plenty for me.

and and and... i've been putting my newly appointed "secretary" to good hard work! (if you ever spy on my flickr photos). i'm glad you got the hint when i said that i don't have the slightest desire to have the silly iphone, because every tom dick harry lucy and sally on the street has it. (as with a few other mass-ly "accessible" mac products in recent years...) ha. i really have to emphasize this. i was waiting in line for my coffee the other day, and this kiddo (like yeah, a 16 yrs old teen?) was tapping away on her gizmo, and lo and behold, this uncle (ah-pek more like it) was at the corner tapping away on his. gahhh.... sorry. i can't help but be snotty like this. no offense taken from anyone of you reading yah, nothing personal ;p

and for littleoddforest, other than everything else you saw or know of already, one of the many lovely things i did to celebrate forestprints design's 4th birthday is to make new ribbons! and i've to thank aisah for this! ;)



sorry, and thanks for bearing with me through this post... the lack of sleep and stress in work planning is not so good. i have another 2 business trips coming up and because this is the year-end busy period, i'm still not sure how this is all going to work out... blahhhhhh.....

We are Yvette and Bianca, interning at LOF as the new customer service reps (or trying our best to be Miss Do-it-all). This is our first entry at littleoddforest's official blog on behalf of our LOF mistress, Lynda. Don't worry, she is not MIA, she is just very very very busy right now..
